A postpartum horror story
In MOM, we meet a struggling new mother (Emily Hampshire) as she does her best to make it work. She is clearly having a very hard time bonding with her son. Nursing isn’t working and she isn’t getting much sleep, while her husband also fails to see that she is obviously coming apart.
Things evolve and escalate in dangerous ways that her husband continues to ignore. Or, more likely, he believes it will get better. The problem is that he believes it will somehow magically get better rather than actually help her get better.
After a horrific incident – that you feel coming long before it actually happens – everyone leaves her behind. Well, not at first, but I don’t want to give everything away here. In any case, the result is that she isolates even more while feeling haunted by a strange entity.
Justify a paragraph on.
To justify a paragraph means to align its text evenly along both the left and right margins, creating a clean rectangular block of text with consistent spacing between words and characters. This typographic choice improves visual uniformity and can make dense text blocks easier to scan in printed materials or formal layouts, but it may introduce uneven word spacing or rivers of white space if line breaks are not carefully managed. In design contexts such as set decoration notes, production documents, or printed call sheets, justified text conveys professionalism and structure; however, for digital screens and small columns, left-aligned text often preserves better readability. When applying justification, use hyphenation, adjust tracking, or slightly alter column width to maintain balanced word spacing and avoid typographic distractions.

“Le risque selon Ginette” by Épargne Placements Québec is driven by a very clean art direction focused on realism and character. The ad centers on Ginette, a relatable older woman, placed in a natural home setting with soft lighting and minimal styling to feel authentic and trustworthy.
The art direction overall avoids anything overly polished or corporate everything is intentionally simple to mirror everyday life. This contrast between a casual, familiar visual tone and her incorrect understanding of “risk” creates subtle humor and makes the message land without needing heavy explanation.
Summarizing it, the creative approach is understated: human, local, and believable, using simplicity and relatability to build trust and make a complex financial concept feel accessible.

“Le risque selon Simon” by Épargne Placements Québec uses production design and art direction to visually express false confidence in risk.
The art direction is clean and symmetrical at first (neutral tones, centered framing, soft lighting), giving Simon a sense of control and credibility. But as the scenes shift, the production design becomes more expressive and ironic:
A perfectly styled dining setup contrasts with messy, exaggerated food actions.
A baseball field places him in a passive, almost absurd position while “risk” happens around him
A hyper-stylized camping scene (oversaturated blues, artificial moonlight) feels almost too perfect—like a constructed idea of adventure
A detailed workshop filled with tools and woodwork reinforces the idea of “control,” while he aggressively carves something unnecessary
Each environment is carefully built to reflect a different version of perceived control, but slightly exaggerated to reveal the flaw.
Overall, the art direction stays polished and believable, while the production design introduces subtle absurdity—using highly curated spaces, color contrast, and set details to show that Simon thinks he understands risk, but doesn’t.
